Portafilter and puck-screen size is the inside diameter of your basket, in millimetres. Most home machines are 54 mm or 58 mm. Find your machine below, or measure the basket. The number that matters is the basket's, not the portafilter body's, the group head's or anything printed on the box.

The puck screen listing names its sizes by the screen's own diameter rather than the basket's nominal size: 53.5 mm for 54 mm Breville/Sage baskets, 58.5 mm for 58 mm E61 baskets, 54.5 mm for La San Marco. Pick by the machine named next to the size.
Measure it yourself
- Take the basket out of the portafilter. You are measuring the basket, not the portafilter body or the group head.
- Measure the inside diameter across the top rim, in millimetres, with a ruler or caliper. Measure twice, at right angles, and use the larger reading.
- 53 to 54.5 mm: a 54 mm machine. A full 54.5 mm on a La San Marco is that machine's own size.
- 57.5 to 58.5 mm: a 58 mm machine.
- About 51 mm: a 51 mm machine, such as the De'Longhi Dedica. We do not make 51 mm portafilters or tampers.
- Anything else, or a reading you do not trust: email us the machine model and the measurement. A person answers within one business day.
What the number does not tell you
Basket size alone decides whether a tamper or puck screen fits. A portafilter also has to lock into your group head, so every portafilter listing names the machines it fits as well as its size. If your machine is not named on the listing, ask before ordering.
Set your size once
Choose 54 mm or 58 mm on the homepage or in the catalog and the parts that fit lead the list. Every product page then says whether the part fits the machine you set.
